Have I ever been passed on by a cicada?

Cicadas are known to release small droplets of liquid, sometimes called "honeydew" or "cicada rain," from their bodies. This liquid is a byproduct of their feeding on plant sap. If you’ve ever been near cicadas and felt a tiny drop of liquid, it’s possible you’ve been "rained" on by a cicada. This liquid is generally harmless, though it can be a bit surprising if you’re not expecting it.
